About Expedition
Expedition is simply the best tactical
and navigation software available. Expedition supports more instrument
systems, is easier to use and has the most powerful and useful functions
for the racing navigator.
Expedition has been developed by veteran Volvo Ocean Race navigator and
Whitbread winner,
physicist
Nick White, initially for his use in the 2001-2 Volvo
Ocean Race with Team News Corp and the Stars & Stripes Americas Cup
team.
Since then, Expedition has been continually refined by a core
group of world-renowned navigators and two-time America’s
Cup winning navigator Peter Isler has consulted closely in the
development of the system
The
end result is a system that
wins more races and
is far more advanced and usable in all aspects than any other tactical
software available - whether you are racing around the world or your
local harbour.

... and much more!
After the winning the 2005
Transpac race as navigator on Morning Glory, Peter Isler had this to say
about Expedition:
"2005 has been a dream year for me. To finish first and break the
elapsed time record in both the Jamaica Race and the Transpac in the
same year has been an amazing experience. Expedition played a key role
in both of those victories ... suffice to say that I would not go
offshore without Expedition on my team! A modern day navigator must
balance subjective, seat of the pants gut feel with the "black and
white" tactical advice provided by the computer. Expedition's routing
tools have so much flexibility that allows the navigator to prudently
consider the 'sensitivity' of a particular route - and to quickly see
how changes in the shape of the boat's polar - or a change in the
weather forecast affect the optimal route."
